FAQs
Krill oil is extracted from small crustaceans (krill) that live primarily in Antarctic waters. It naturally contains omega-3 fatty acids, phospholipids, and astaxanthin.
Each capsule contains 500 mg of Superba™ Krill Oil (83.9%) and a capsule shell made of fish gelatin and water (16.1%). The krill oil contains the following components: omega-3 fatty acids (28%), EPA (12%), DHA (5.5%), phospholipids (42%), choline (5%), and astaxanthin (59 µg per capsule).
Krill oil contains omega-3 fatty acids in the form of phospholipids, whereas fish oil mostly provides them as triglycerides. The natural content of astaxanthin also gives krill oil its reddish color.
The capsules are usually taken once daily with a meal and plenty of water. Please follow the instructions on the label.
People with a crustacean allergy should avoid krill oil. If you have an existing medical condition or are taking medication, it's recommended that you consult a doctor beforehand.
Krill oil should be stored in a cool, dry place away from light. Once opened, close tightly and keep out of reach of small children.
